The law firm of Savage, Royall & Sheheen, L.L.P. was founded in 1926 when Henry Savage, Jr. returned to Camden after graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law. Ed Royall joined the firm in 1953, and Robert J. (Bob) Sheheen followed in 1968. Both are still active members of the law firm.
Members of the firm have been leaders in many areas of the community and in public service beginning with Henry Savage, Jr., who served as Camden Mayor from 1948 to 1958. Ed Royall was the inaugural Chairman of Kershaw County Council. Bob Sheheen served in the state House of Representative for twenty-four years, including eight years as Speaker of the House. Former members of the firm have gone on to serve as South Carolina Circuit and Family Court judges. Other members of the firm currently serve in the South Carolina Senate and on City of Camden City Council.
