Stephen R. Smoak is a 1996 graduate of Furman University. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the South Carolina Law Review.
He joined the law firm in 2000 and practices in the areas of civil and domestic litigation, handling matters for both plaintiffs and defendants. He has extensive trial experience in the circuit courts and family courts of South Carolina. He also handles real estate matters. Stephen was elected as a city councilman for the City of Camden in 2016 and previously served two terms on Kershaw County Council. He is the current President of Habitat for Humanity of Kershaw County. Stephen has been President of the Kershaw County Bar Association and the Kiwanis Club of Camden; a board member for the Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments; and a board member of the Kershaw County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs.
